Model S hatchback and Model X crossover were presented in the new versions. Tesla company has released two versions of cars with battery capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours. In the US market the new modification of the Model S is named P100D, and recognized as the fastest car in the world.
Equipped with a new battery, called Ludicrous, Model S P100D hatchback accelerates from zero to 60 miles per hour (or from zero to 96 kilometers per hour) in 2.5 seconds at maximum speed. Upon this indication Model S hatchback outmarches such «heavyweights» as Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari, each of which can accelerate to “hundreds” in less than three seconds at maximum speed. Currently, the production of these models has stopped.
Tesla Model X
According to the EPA cycle, Model S P100D has an action radius of 315 miles (506 kilometers) or 613 km according to the European cycle. Tesla company says this model is the first electric vehicle with action radius that exceeds 480 kilometers.
The Model X crossover is also equipped with a new battery Ludicrous and at maximum speed it accelerates to a hundred kilometers per hour in just 2.9 seconds. The action radius is 289 miles (or 465 kilometers) according to the EPA cycle, and 542 km according to the European cycle.
The customers who have previously ordered the previous top-end Model S called P90D Ludicrous, but have not received the vehicle yet can make the additional payment of 10 thousand dollars. For all others the extra charge of the battery is 20 thousand dollars. The new Model S P100D costs 134 thousand 500 dollars, and the Model X P100D – 135 thousand 500 dollars.
